MANILA – Rain showers and thunderstorms are expected across various parts of the country due to three weather systems: the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), northeasterly windflow, and the easterlies, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Wednesday (02 Apr 2025).
Weather Forecast by Region
Southern Mindanao: The ITCZ will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms to Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental, Sarangani, South Cotabato, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.
Northern Luzon: Cloudy skies with isolated moderate rains are expected in Batanes, Cagayan (including Babuyan Islands), Apayao, Isabela, and Aurora due to the northeasterly windflow.
Rest of the country: The easterlies will cause isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
Possible Hazards
PAGASA warns that moderate to heavy rains in the affected areas may lead to flash floods or landslides.
Wind and Sea Conditions
Northern Luzon: Moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough coastal waters.
Other areas: Light to moderate winds with slight to moderate seas.
Tropical Cyclone Update
