MANILA — The easterlies are expected to bring scattered rain showers to various parts of the Philippines, according to the latest update from the weather bureau.
This weather pattern will primarily affect the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Surigao del Norte, Dinagat Islands, and Quezon, where moderate to heavy rains could lead to flash floods and landslides.
Additionally, isolated light rains, influenced by the northeast monsoon or amihan, will persist in Batanes and Babuyan Islands. For the rest of the country, generally fair weather is anticipated, with the possibility of isolated showers, particularly in the afternoon or evening.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecaster, Patrick del Mundo, noted that there are no signs of a low-pressure area within or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, suggesting a low likelihood of a tropical cyclone affecting the nation through the upcoming weekend.
In the northern part of Luzon, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas are expected to continue, while elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate, accompanied by slight to moderate sea conditions, as stated by PAGASA.
