MANILA — Former Senator Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes IV, citing Commission on Audit (COA) documents, filed plunder and graft complaints with the Department of Justice (DOJ) on Friday (05 July 2024) against former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and Senator Bong Go.

The complaints are linked to P6.6 billion worth of infrastructure projects during the previous administration.

Trillanes also included in his complaints Go’s father, Deciderio, and half-brother Alfredo, who allegedly engaged in contracting projects with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

He asserted that Duterte and Go violated the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.

Trillanes highlighted in the complaint that Deciderio’s company, CTLG Builders, secured 125 public works projects from 2007 to 2018, amounting to P4.89 billion. Meanwhile, Alfredo’s Alfrego Builders and Supply obtained 59 projects from 2000 to 2018, totaling P1.74 billion.

The former lawmaker pointed out that these companies allegedly did not meet the qualifications required by the Contractor’s License Law to bid for large-scale projects.

“All the elements of plunder are present in this case,” Trillanes underscored in his complaint.

He also alleged that the respondents profited from the P6.6 billion contracts.

“Every check they received, where did it go straight to, where did it go straight to, it’s for their family,” Trillanes stated.

There has been no response from the respondents at the time of posting.
