MANILA — Vice President Sara Duterte confirmed that her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, is not suffering from any serious illness.
She mentioned that her father has been complaining of back and knee pain, which is common among older individuals.
Additionally, the former president is reportedly struggling with the extreme cold in the Netherlands.
VP Sara also noted that her father’s eyesight and hearing have worsened with age.
The Vice President is currently in the Netherlands to be with her father.
Despite being abroad, she assured Filipinos that she continues to fulfill her duties as the second-highest official of the Philippines.
“I do not forget my responsibilities at the Office of the Vice President. I speak with my colleagues every day,” Duterte said.
“As Vice President, I also have a duty to one of our fellow Filipinos who is being held against his will here at the ICC detention center,” she added.
