MANILA — Vice President Sara Duterte expressed gratitude to the supporters of former President Rodrigo Duterte, who gathered to celebrate his 80th birthday.
“Mga kababayan, aking taos-pusong pasasalamat sa lahat ng mga Pilipino na sumusuporta at nagmamahal kay dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte. Sa mga kababayan natin sa Pilipinas, The Netherlands, at iba’t ibang panig ng mundo—napakalaking bagay para kay Pangulong Duterte ang pagtitipon ninyo para sa kanyang pag-uwi at kaarawan,” the Vice President said.
VP Sara said their gatherings reflect the “strength, courage, and determination of the Filipino people.”
She also urged supporters to continue praying for her father.
On Friday afternoon, thousands of supporters gathered at Roxas Avenue and C.M. Recto Street in Davao City to celebrate the former president’s milestone. Some attendees also reiterated their call for him to return to the country.
