Expect rain showers across the Philippines today, Wednesday (25 Oct 2023) as a result of the prevailing weather conditions.
According to the 4 a.m. report from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the northeast monsoon, also known as ‘amihan,’ and a shear line will be influencing the weather today.
A shear line is a narrow corridor along which there is an abrupt change in the horizontal component of the wind.
Mainland areas such as Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, and Northern Quezon should anticipate overcast skies with intermittent rain showers and thunderstorms, primarily due to the presence of the shear line.
Batanes and Babuyan Islands, on the other hand, are likely to experience cloudy conditions with rain. In the Ilocos and Cordillera regions and the rest of Cagayan Valley, expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with occasional light rain due to the northeast monsoon.
Metro Manila and other parts of the country can expect partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with the possibility of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, mainly attributed to localized thunderstorms.
Here are the expected temperature ranges for today:
Metro Manila: 24°C to 30°C
Baguio City: 17°C to 24°C
Laoag City: 24°C to 32°C
Legazpi City: 25°C to 32°C
Metro Cebu: 25°C to 32°C
Puerto Princesa City: 25°C to 31°C
Metro Davao: 24°C to 33°C.”
