MANILA — Young entrepreneur Ronnel Hombre was officially sworn in as Director 3 of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) last Friday, October 4, 2024. The oath-taking ceremony was presided over by BOC Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio at the Bureau’s main office in Port Area, Manila.
Hombre’s appointment is seen as part of the ongoing efforts to bring in fresh perspectives and strengthen the leadership within the Bureau. Hombre’s background in entrepreneurship is expected to contribute significantly to the agency’s operations, particularly in areas related to trade and customs processes.
Commissioner Rubio expressed confidence in Hombre’s ability to help drive the Bureau’s modernization initiatives and ensure a more transparent and efficient customs service.
