MANILA — Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri expressed his wholehearted approval of the appointment of House Deputy Speaker Ralph Recto as the new Secretary of the Department of Finance.
“I do not doubt that he will excel as Finance Secretary, continuing to propel the country towards greater economic prosperity,” Zubiri stated.
Zubiri highlighted Recto’s reputation as the “resident numbers genius” in the Senate, emphasizing not only his mathematical prowess but, more significantly, his ability to swiftly grasp the broader implications of numerical data.
“Beyond his mathematical acumen, he possesses a profound understanding of bridging the gap between abstract mathematical concepts and the tangible realities our nation confronts,” added Zubiri.
Recto assumes the role previously held by Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno.
