MANILA – The easterlies and the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) are forecast to bring rain showers to various parts of the Philippines, according to the latest update from the weather bureau on Monday (01 July 2024).
In its early morning advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that the easterlies will cause scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Eastern Visayas.
Isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are also expected over the Bicol Region and in the provinces of Quezon and Aurora.
South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, and Davao Occidental will similarly experience scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.
Generally fair weather is anticipated elsewhere in the country, with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate sea conditions are expected to prevail across the archipelago.
PAGASA forecaster Obet Badrina stated that no tropical cyclone will develop or enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility over the next two to three days.
