MANILA – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecasts rains across Luzon on Tuesday (07 Jan 2025) due to the northeast monsoon (amihan) and a shear line.

Amihan will bring rains to Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora. In Quezon, scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected due to the shear line.

PAGASA warns that moderate to heavy rains in these areas may trigger flash floods and landslides.

Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, and the rest of Central Luzon will experience light drizzle from amihan, while the rest of the country will see isolated thunderstorms.

Northern Luzon will continue to face strong winds and rough seas, while moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas are expected in the eastern parts of Central and Southern Luzon, and the Visayas. Elsewhere, light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will prevail.

PAGASA also noted that no low-pressure areas or tropical cyclones are currently monitored.
