MANILA – Various regions in the Philippines will continue to encounter rain showers as three weather systems influence the country, the weather bureau reported on Wednesday.
According to the 4 a.m. bulletin from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the Bicol Region, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, and the southern part of Quezon will witness overcast skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shear line and the easterlies.
PAGASA cautioned that moderate to heavy rains in these areas may lead to flash floods or landslides.
Meanwhile, cloudy skies with light rains are expected over Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and the remainder of Quezon due to the northeast monsoon or “amihan.”
Similar weather conditions will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila, Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Region, and the remaining parts of Central Luzon and Calabarzon.
The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA warned that severe thunderstorms may trigger flash floods or landslides in vulnerable areas.
Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters are anticipated over the eastern sections of the country, while light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas are expected over the rest of the archipelago.
Temperature ranges for various areas are as follows: Metro Manila, 23°C to 32°C; Baguio City, 13°C to 23°C; Laoag City, 20°C to 31°C; Legazpi City, 24°C to 28°C; Metro Cebu, 24°C to 30°C; Puerto Princesa City, 25°C to 32°C; and Metro Davao, 24°C to 32°C.
