MANILA — Heavy to intense rains are forecasted in Isabela province due to the shear line, according to the 5 a.m. weather advisory from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Tuesday (03 Dec 2024).

PAGASA cautioned that widespread flooding is likely in urban areas, low-lying locations, and near rivers. Landslides are also possible in moderately to highly susceptible areas.

Neighboring provinces Cagayan and Aurora are expected to experience moderate to heavy rainfall, with similar risks of localized flooding.

The shear line will also bring scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms across Metro Manila, Quirino, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Rizal, Quezon, and the Kalayaan Islands. Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon, or “amihan,” will cause cloudy skies and rains in the rest of Cagayan Valley and the Cordillera Administrative Region.

The Ilocos Region will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to “amihan.” Other parts of the country can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with occasional rain showers or thunderstorms caused by localized weather systems.

Strong winds with moderate to rough coastal waters are expected in Northern Luzon, while the rest of the country will experience light to moderate winds and seas.

Authorities urge residents in affected areas to remain vigilant and prepare for possible flooding and landslides.
