MANILA – The weather bureau forecasts fair and sunny weather for most parts of the country on Thursday.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), isolated light rain showers due to the northeast monsoon or “amihan” will persist over Batanes.
Benison Estareja of PAGASA mentioned that Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao will enjoy fair and sunny weather, with isolated rain showers likely in the afternoon or evening.
Temperatures are expected to reach up to 34 °C in Metro Manila and up to 33 °C in Tuguegarao. Estareja advised that the heat index, or perceived temperature, could be 2 to 4 °C higher than these figures.
In Tacloban, Cebu, and Iloilo, temperatures may reach up to 32 °C. Estareja cautioned that the heat index in the Visayas could soar to 41 °C.
Zamboanga and Davao could experience temperatures of up to 34 °C and 33 °C, respectively. However, Estareja warned that the heat indices in these areas could range from 38 to 41 °C.
No weather disturbances are expected until the weekend.
Moderate winds and moderate coastal waters are anticipated over Northern Luzon, while elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas.
