MANILA — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported on Wednesday that multiple areas in Luzon and the Visayas are set to experience scattered rains as a result of the shear line and the northeast monsoon.

According to the 4 a.m. bulletin, cloudy skies accompanied by scattered rain showers and thunderstorms, brought about by the shear line, will dominate over Metro Manila, Bicol Region, Calabarzon, Isabela, Quirino, Aurora, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, and Samar.

Conversely, the northeast monsoon, locally known as “amihan,” is expected to bring cloudy skies with light rains over Apayao, Kalinga, Ifugao, Mountain Province, and the remaining areas of Cagayan Valley.

This weather pattern will also result in partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Ilocos Region, the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, and the remaining parts of Central Luzon.

The rest of the country is anticipated to witness partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms attributed to the shear line and localized thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas are predicted over Luzon and the eastern section of the Visayas, while the rest of the country is expected to experience light to moderate wind speeds and slight to moderate seas.

Temperature forecasts include a range of 25°C to 31°C in Metro Manila; 16°C to 25°C in Baguio City; 24°C to 32°C in Laoag City; 25°C to 31°C in Legazpi City; 26°C to 32°C in Metro Cebu; 26°C to 32°C in Puerto Princesa City; and 26°C to 33°C in Metro Davao.
