MANILA — Philippine cinema mourns the passing of veteran actress Delia Razon, who died on March 15 at the age of 94.

Razon, born Lucy May Gertz on August 8, 1930, was a prominent star of LVN Pictures, where she was discovered by matriarch Doña Narcisa de León. She made her film debut in Krus na Bituin (1949) and went on to star in numerous classics, including Prinsipe Tenoso, Gaano Kadalas Ang Minsan, and Luksang Tagumpay.

Her granddaughter, actress Carla Abellana, paid tribute by posting a vintage photo of Razon on Instagram. Carla is the daughter of actor Rey “PJ” Abellana and Razon’s daughter, Rea.

Razon remained active in the industry until the early 2000s, leaving behind a legacy of elegance and talent that defined the golden era of Philippine cinema.

Her family has yet to disclose the cause of her passing.
