The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) predicts generally fair weather to dominate most areas of the country, today, Tuesday (17 Oct 2023) according to one of its forecasters.
Grace Castañeda of PAGASA stated, “The low-pressure area (LPA) situated west of Luzon, beyond the Philippine Area of Responsibility, is no longer influencing rainfall in any part of the nation.”
Rains are expected in Batanes, Cagayan, and Isabela due to the northeasterly surface wind flow, with the potential for moderate to heavy precipitation, raising concerns about flash floods and landslides.
Castañeda also mentioned, “The remaining regions of the country can expect generally fair weather, occasionally interrupted by localized thunderstorms.”
Furthermore, the forecast calls for moderate to strong winds and moderately rough seas to persist in northern and central Luzon. In contrast, winds are expected to be light to moderate elsewhere, with seas ranging from slight to moderate. (ai/mnm)
